Notes

Longfin Rosy Barbs are peaceful compare to other barb species.  They grow up to 4" and require a larger tank to be comfortable.  They're great tank mates with general nano community fish and can also do well with medium to large fish like rainbowfish and gouramis.  Males are generally brighter red in color while females have a more red-yellow hue.

Notes

German Blue Rams are popular for their super vibrant colors.  They're a smaller and peaceful cichlid, but require tight water parameters and need a lot of space when housing more than one.

Serpae Tetras are also known as Red Minor Tetra, Jewel Tetra or Callistus Tetras, and are great beginner fish.  The Longfin variant will have longer and more flowy dorsa and anal fins.  They often have a black spot on their body and can get confused with Red Phantom Tetras.  The Serpae Tetras dorsal and anal fin have red and transition to black with white tips.  You can keep them in a 10 gallon tank, but push for a 20 gallon with larger groups. Avoid aggressive or territorial species or large fish with big mouths.

Bloodfin tetras can be both subtle and vibrant.  Their silver bodies and red highlights make them great community fish.  General rule is 2 gallons per fish. Provide a minimum of 10 gallons, but aim for 20 to provide extra room to swim.  Avoid aggressive or territorial species or large fish with big mouths such as cichlids.

Notes

Celestial Pearl Danios, or CPD for short, are relatively new in the fishkeeping world.  They were discovered in the early 2000’s and were initially called Galaxy Rasboras or Fireworks Rasbora.  They’re super popular for their trout-like spotted bodies and bright orange fins.  For a fish that gets only about 3/4” in size, their distinct features really pop out in a community tank.  A bonus is that they can tolerate a wider range of water parameters making them easy to breed.

Notes

Also known as Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish or Blue Rainbowfish, Turquoise Rainbowfish are simlar Boesemani Rainbowfish and are peaceful middle-top dwellers with small mouths.  They do well in a community with many nano fish including cherry barbs.  Minimize plant and decoration density and aim for 48" long tank to give them ample swimming space.
